My name is Nelly, I am a Kenyan married to a Belgian husband , I am mother to two beautiful daughters Imani-Jane ~I-J (Faith) , Amirah Godelieve Zahara (Love) and an angel daughter Olivia Amali (Hope).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

During the 20th week anatomy scan, I was found to have an \u2018\u2019incompetent cervix\u2019\u2019. This could not be explained as my 1st pregnancy was stable and the baby was even born post EDD. In that August of 2018, I lost my daughter Olivia at just short of 24 weeks gestation. It is the most traumatizing near death experience I have ever gone through. I did not know how to express my emotions because I grew up in a culture where expressing and talking about emotions was seen as weakness. There was no time for this. You needed to pick yourself up, toughen up and move on! The Introvert in me, wanted a safe space I could escape to and be vulnerable with myself. In moments, I felt overwhelmed and tired even to write, but found time to do it, it still sparked joy as I had to our my heart out after each devotion and then wrote my feelings down. In the hope of doing this, it is my hope that you will find God in the middle of the storm. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

So what\u2019s new, is that, in the last 2 years, I have been so encouraged by many women both near and far and I have requested them to invite us into their messy yet faith filled journeys. They will do so, through guest posts on this page here<\/a>. They will share their \u2018messy\u2019 yet faith filled filled stories of how they found God in the middle of their storms. Be it on motherhood, child bearing, ministry, single parenthood, raising special needs children, SAHM, those juggling full time jobs and managing their homes and how they recharge, loss and grief, mental health. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

As serious and emotional this story will be, I hope the words brings life, light, joy , awareness, comfort and hopefully some moments of laughter to someone.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I hope that this platform will bring encouragement to families, those still waiting for their rainbows after years of fertility treatments, mental challenges, life of caring for special needs children, miscarriages, still births, pre-mature deaths and fellow grieving mamas in general especially those who can not find the words to express themselves.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

With this page, I hope I can embark on this healing process by writing and sharing my experience and all the aspects we have already experienced with our previous pregnancy with Olivia Amali and finding strength in this journey. In this page, I will talk about this last pregnancy, life with IC, our stay at the hospital, life after being discharged and living a life of continued hope and trust in our God who knows it all.
